The Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC) is pleased to announce the winners of its first-time Public Service Announcement (PSA) project. 

Each student-generated PSA highlights a way to make a difference in our environment:

Second Place                         Lincoln Hall Middle School , Lincolnwood

Third Place                            Chute Middle School , Evanston

Honorable Mention                Dr. Bessie Rhodes School , Skokie

SWANCC hosted a workshop for teacher sponsors in January to enlighten attendees about solid waste technologies and waste reduction solutions, as well as criteria regarding this project. Teacher sponsors took the information back to their students to write and produce a 60-second PSA.
