Recycled-Content Products Used in the Construction of the Glenview Transfer Station

Foundation & Concrete: Re-uses post-industrial crushed concrete.

• Carpet: The fibers of the carpet inside the conference room and administrative offices are made from 100% post-consumer #1 PET plastic pop bottles.

• Restroom and Locker Room Partitions: The partitions are made from 100% post-consumer #2 HDPE plastic milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles.

• Insulation: The insulation is made up of 23% recovered paper.

• Ceiling Tiles: The ceiling tiles found throughout the facility are made from post-consumer recycled newspaper and "slag" (a steel manufacturing byproduct).
